ND-SCGSC SPORTS PROGRAM

Young adults nowadays are confronted with different passive activities like computer gaming, watching too much television, and the social networking epidemic. These activities if done excessively can be very harmful to their well-being as proven by many studies and researches.

To help students pursue a healthy and active lifestyle, the ND-SCGSC Sports Program was created. Its central aim is to help develop the athletic skills and abilities of students, which are integral parts of health and personal development. It offers a unique arena in which students can successfully exert their talents. The arena is unique for two reasons. First, sports engage the student as a complete human being: all facets-not just physical, but also social, cognitive, and psychological are engaged harmoniously in striving toward peak fulfillment. Second, sports involve youths working in an ongoing community composed of their peers as well as their peers' families. Sports offer children an exhilarating, satisfying, rewarding way to participate in a larger world not generally accessible to non-athletes.
