English Language has been the primary language of the majority of people in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, other former colonies of Britain, and territories of the United States. It is also an official or semiofficial language of many countries with a colonial past, such as India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and South Africa. Even in countries where English is not primary or official language, it is taught as a foreign language and used as the language of technology and diplomacy. English is spoken in more parts of the world and by more people than any other language (Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 2010).

The English language seems set to dominate world communications. Its dominance brings with it a degree of standardization. Thus, being a school community that promotes quality education, intensifying English as the primary and standard language all over the campus is but one great qualification to cope with the demands of time.

The program aims to:

  • Improve the verbal and writing ability of the ND-SCGSC community in using English as the medium of instruction and conversation;
  • Promote responsible freedom of expression using the English language;
  • Stand as the leading English speaking community being the school’s trademark throughout the city; and
  • Develop fluency and self-confidence in English communication.
